Platinum Blasting was formed in late 2014 by a closely knit team of industry experts with a proven track record of success.
We have a strong commitment to providing a real and superior alternative to the existing major providers. Channelling our combined knowledge into streamlining operations, refining product and service offerings, and designing and deploying innovative equipment and logistics solutions, the Platinum team is focused on bringing the most advanced and cost effective blasting systems and products to the Australian market.
With over 120 years of collective blasting services experience behind us, we understand how the industry works and the drivers of success. More importantly, this knowledge enables our highly skilled team to work closely with our clients in helping overcome the complex challenges faced in this current demanding economic environment.

An experienced senior manager, brings 30+ years of expertise in Australia and overseas. As CEO of Platinum Blasting, he leads the delivery of safe, innovative, and cost-efficient blasting solutions. With a diverse finance background, he helped transform Downer Blasting Services and played an instrumental role in founding and growing Platinum to an industry leader.

A qualified Mining Engineer with over 25 years of industry experience, excels at aligning commercial realities with mining customers' needs. His expertise spans open cut and underground mining, coal, and metalliferous mining. Formerly with Downer Blasting Services, Ian played a key role in transforming the business into a recognized explosives provider.

Shane brings extensive experience as a qualified mining engineer and operations manager. His senior management roles span corporate and private companies, showcasing his ability to engage and motivate stakeholders at all levels. Shane has extensive experience in strategic business, fiscal management and organic growth in start-up and rapid change environments.

With over 32 years of industry experience his expertise spans senior management roles at Downer Blasting Services and Maxam, ensuring safe and environmentally responsible workplaces. He excels in developing and managing HSET & Q strategies, ensuring compliance, and implementing risk management solutions.
